ADET BAN Row 1: D. Bonnett, W. Koza, B. Mackey, J. Ingham, A. Allison, L. Sherman. Row 2: P. Cavel, R. McCulloch, K. Gould, F. Gates, B. Ellis, L. Tashman, Mr. German. S On September 6th, Andrew Warde officially open- ed its doors as FairfieId's second high school, although facilities were not complete. For the first few months the band members practiced in the cellar. The band room was completed in January '57. Now in the beautifully constructed room under the very capable leadership of Mr. German, the band practices each day during 5th period. On the football field, decked out in their dazzling new crimson uniforms and performing their marching routine, was a band of which Andrew Warde students could well be proud. The band played for the Fathers' Club at their February meeting. Each type of instrument was dem- onstrated by members of the band. They explained its range and function as well as its division, such as woodwind, brass, or percussion. This gave some mem- bers a chance to show their talent with a brief solo. A popular feature of the band's program is its Spring Concert. This gives the families and friends a chance to enjoy their work. As each year progresses we hope that the band will continue to grow and to arouse cheering and sing- ing, and, most of all, school spirit. CO CERT B Row I: R. Lockwood, W. Godo, P. McElwain, R. KOMIAN S Andrew Warde's iunior dramatic group, working under the adopted title of Komians, found themselves in the unique position of lacking a stage on which to rehearse and perform. However, despite the diffi- culties, the show must go on and with the fine acting and strong determination of Komian players success was reached. Through a maze of coffee containers and homework papers Mrs. Katherine Busch and Miss Alice Ogalin could be seen directing student talents Komians and Thespians trying out for their Spring production. in Kaufman and Hart's zany three act comedy You Can't Take It With You. The play was preformed in Roger Ludlowe audi- torium and the audience testified to its success with prolonged applause. The strain of tedious rehearsals and hours of worries combined with opening night litters caused many cast members and also such lead- ing players as Lou Cepero, Kay Levine, Seth Wein- traub, and Fran Pokras to declare they would never be in another play . . . until the next one. Komians l.ou, Ray, Kay, Pete, Connie and Don rehearse for Andrew Warde's first play You Can't Take It With You. Row I: S. Rosenwald, M. Zimmer, S. Feld, G. Griffin, S. Sheatsley, J. Ringelheim, S.
