CHEERLIZ DER ,,,, i E. Lansing, .l.' Kostan, Wittenberg, P. Nelson, K. Gilligan,lCo-Capt.g M. Paccione, S. Ribner,lN. Feather, Co-Capt., W. Lineburgh, B. Miller. Oh, my achin' back, 'filiust can'twalk another step, Ohhh! Yes, you probably heard these anguished words many times in September. Why, of course, all the moans and groans were from the sixtyodd girls who tried for positions as Andrew Warde's first cheerleaders. Regardless of the aches and pains, ten girls reigned triumphant, including freshmen Wilson.Lineburgh and Lisa Lansing, sophomore Judy Wittenberg, 'iuniors Betsy Miller, Susie Ribner, and Marilyn Pacione, and of course seniors Joan Kostan and co-captains Kay Gilligan and Nancy Feather. y g These girls had the difficult task. of beginning the hiss tory of the Andrew Warde cheerleaders, with new cheers and techniques that will set the precedent for many years to come. After many days of practice, they made their football debut in flashy crimson uniforms, which they made themselves, and with the aid of the spectators, successfully cheered on our new football team. After the close of our not too successful, but enioy- able, football season the vivacious cheerleaders reap- peared at basketball time to spur our team with renewed pep and vitality. ' We certainly all should give a cheer to the ten who helped make our first sports year entirely successful regard- less of the number offwins and losses. BRAVO!! Row 1: Feather, Co-Capt.: K. Gilligan, Co-Capt. Row 2: J. Wittenberg, P. Nelson, S. Ribner, VB. Miller,'lH W. Lineburgh, M. Paccione, J. Kostan, E. Lansing. 41
