E is -if ' K' 431' ' .. ...HQ You can always tell an album-keeper by the familiar trademarks: perennially pasty fingers, grooved thumbs from long years of scissors-holding, and a glazed stare from too much photo-gazing. Stooped nearsightedly over a pile of pictures, the album- keeper will enumerate enthusiastically the advantages of album-keeping, and he is right, for an album is the, best means of preserving memories of important events. Keeping an album, though, is tiresome work. The thin thread of patience is pulled taut when photos must be collected, sorted, and pasted into place. After a while the taste of glue becomes slightly annoying, and pictures are finally, 'pastily', tossed between pages and the album consigned forever to the limbo of an empty drawer. But,,' says the album-keeper, 'cthink of the results of a little patience! Itis so won- derful to look back, years later, on familiar faces, remembered places-auld lang syne, you knowlv Again he is right. Unfortunately, however, not all of us are as patient as we would like to be, and a haphazard photo album awakens only haphazard memories. What to do? Our staff has found a solution: the '59 Pioneer. It is full of the pictures you would want in your own album. In fact, the Pioneer is your own album, a com- plete record of your career as a Jackson Senior. So put away your pastepots and settle down to an hour of comfortable reminis- cence, reliving your senior year and impressing it as indelibly upon your mind as upon these pages. Ilona Burstein
