9 Q Q 4'MfLClf9Cl S QSSCZQQ 'llo the Class ol' 1954: You have chosen wisely in taking your theme from -laques' famous soliloquy. All the world's 21 stage and each of you in your turn will play many parts. Graduation marks the successful completion ol' one role and the beginning ol a new and more challenging one. The stage setting for the parts you are now called upon to enact is a world in flux, a social and political arena in which the scenery is drifting rapidly. Among the roles you will assume are those of the citizen, the worker, the consumer, the family member, and-for some-the student once again. I trust that your years at Jackson have given you a firm foundation upon which you can build the edifice that is to be your life. I hope that you have developed a devotion to justice and liberty, a reverence for the rights of all men, and an enduring faith in the moral and spiritual values that are our greatest strengths.I hope that you are equipped to face the future with confidence, courage, and purpose. In the unfolding drama that lies ahead, your roles will be largely your own to create. However you are Cast, be true to your ideals and thereby achieve what a contemporary of Shakespeare called the quiet rr1ind,'l the serenity and satisfaction that come with self-respect. I wish you every measure of success and good fortune. God bless you! JACK GORDON DEUTSCH 6

We, the Senior Class of june 1954, take great pride in dedicat- ing our yearbook to MR. GEORGE COHN, our friend and advisor. We hope in this way to voice the thanhs we have always felt, hut sometimes neglected to express. Although he too was a newcomer just four years ago, his understanding of teen-agers has already made him very j1ojJular with the students. He has brought a greater appreciation of literature to those of us fortunate enough to have him for our English teacher. His wonderful personality, warm smile, and friendly manner will lorzg he remembered. Qleclieation 5
