edication As WE LEAVE the halls of Iackson and venture into the unknown, which to-day is so uncertain-a world in which we can make no plans for the future-our thoughts turn to the boys and girls of jackson who preceded us. Some left the school in happier days, while others left at the call of their country. We are especially mindful of the latter, for we too will soon hear the call. To those boys and girls of Iackson who have already served in the Armed Forces, to those who are now serving, and to those of us who will soon sewe, we affectionately dedicate this book. We hope it will mean to all who read it, a reminder of happy, carefree days in the shelter of home and school and friends and all the things that the people of a democracy find Worth iight- ing for.
