JUNIOR SENIOR 1986 UP WHERE WE BELONG 2 PROM The Class of 1987 spent a great deal of time decorat- ing for the 1985-86 Junior-Senior Prom. The many hours spent decorating paid off the night of the Big Party . The prom was a BIG SUCCESS! Up Where We Belong was the theme which was highlighted by pink and white balloons and white streamers. The beautiful decorations and refreshments were very impressive to all attenders. Special momen- tos were given to enhance a lasting memory of the night. The Class of '87 appreciated watching the enjoy- ment of their guest. SERVANTS: John E., Jerry O., Vicki C., Mike H., Sherri C, Leonard C, Kathryn H. PROM 3 MAYDAY 1986 May Day is an important event at Andrew Jackson. As we celebrate, a pole stands in the center of the gym with brightly colored ribbons draping down like a vertical rainbow. The music begins and the dancers gather around the pole while each class anticipates the opportunity to perform for the May Queens and their Court. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one be- longing to him, and the other to the LORD. When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life. This really bothered him and he questioned the LORD about it. LORD, you said that once I decid- ed to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't under- stand why when I needed you most you would leave me. The LORD replied, My son, My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of foot- prints, it was then that I carried you. 1 I ; S : I £ i : i | d : I ; : i!
