This year's team had a strong hitting ball club. The most significant factor in the team's success was the defensive play. The players' positions were as follows: Jim Phillips, Arnold Mazotti, Wally Wood, Pitching, Garry McClung, Cat- ching, Jim Zito, lst Base, Larry Frei- marck, 2nd Base, Joe Zito, 3rd Base, Jerry Stewart, Shortstop, Lamar Baldwin, Left Field, Jim Watkins, Center Field, Frank Garcia, Right Field, Art Trinino, Mike Weatherly, and Mike Facer, Utility. Coach Powell gives instructions to Captain Garry McClung, Co-Captain Joe Zito.

Fledglings Wield Big Bats This year's Frosh-Soph Baseball team gained much experience for future varsity competition. The team's strong point was the pitching department where Steve Wright and Rich Palacios turned in outstanding performances time after time. Always working hard in outfield were Dave Gurich and Dale Falcone. Both are freshmen with an outstand- ing future. Holding up the hitting department were hitters Hiiznzo, Garcia, Wright, Palacios, and Rudy Renteria. Catching and always hustling was Nick Gurich. Coach Tom Rike and Steve Wright and Dale Falcone discuss batting procedure.
