This year the Physical Education Department participated in a phys- ical fitness program. The purpose ot this program was to determine whether or not students here at An- drew Hill are capable ot passing the California State Physical Fitness Test. The goal was to provide the nec- essary opportunity for the students to condition themselves throughout the year, and to prepare themselves to pass the test by the end of the year. The test was given three times during the year. First, at the begin- ning of the year to see just where each girl stood in regard to the state norms. lt was given again at the middle ot the year to determine any progress made, and once more at the end of the year to decide whether the program had better pre- pared the girls to reach the state norms, Right: Miss Margaret Harris and Miss Shirley Crawford watch as some girls attempt 50 pushups for the physical fitness test. Mr. Kenneth Matsuda ioins in a game of volleyball with his students Mr. John Mason, department head, watches as a student climbs the rope, as part of the physical fitness program in ,the class.
