DEDICATION Mr. Ted Faley was born on April 30, 1932, in Santa Cruz, Cali- fornia, and lived There during his younger years. After graduation in 1949 from Santa Cruz High School, he attended San Jose State College, majoring in Journalism and minoring in Social Studies. Here, he worked on the Santa Cruz newspaper during his apprenticeship. One of his outstanding accomplishments at State was being the Editor of the newspaper in his senior year. After graduation in 1953, he spent 3 years in the Army. Returning home in 1956, he met and married his lovely wife, Jean. Mr. and Mrs. Faley now have three adorable children, Mark who is 5, Kimberly who is 4, and Eric who is QV2. Mr. Faley started teaching at Hill in February of 1958. Ever since then he has been quite a busy man on, as well as off, of the Hill campus. The courses he teaches are Photography, English, English Journalism, Social Science and Journalism. He spends his free 6th period and much of his spare time helping the yearbook staff, advising the photographers and giving new ideas to the staff. Without his help we could not have produced such a fine yearbook. Mr. Faley also ad- vises the Hilite staff, who puts out an interesting paper bi-weekly. He is responsible for reporting activities to the Mercury, Sun and Mayfair newspapers, and holds the position of Public Relations Manager of the Eastside District. He also was the chairman of the faculty W.A.S.C. Committee this past year. Aside from all this he is attending night school in order that he may obtain his Administration Credentials and a Masters Degree. Those of us who know him well are drawn to him by his pleasing personality and constant smile. He not only possesses a real desire to help the students with any problem they may have, but an interest in activities and an interest in making Andrew Hill an all-around better school. Therefore, Mr. Faley, we proudly dedicate the 1963 Talon to you in appreciation of your worthwhile contributions to Andrew Hill High School, which have endeared you to us forever.
