Summer Officially Ends With Howdy Dance Within a few short hours, students of Andress got their first glimpse ot the people who would share the joys and sorrows of the 73-74 school year with them. That was the Howdy Dance, the ending ot summer and the beginning of school and its activities. lt was held August 31 and Chantz provided the excellent heat which inspired many to form congo lines. Homecoming 1973, brought students together with a feeling of happiness and great expectations. The theme Oldie Goldie was carried out in skits, dress, and other homecoming week activities. Della and George Oaks, Andress 1969 graduates, pro- moted school spirit as guest speakers for the assembly. Fteigning over the Home- coming festivities was Queen Pauline Goode. Her court consisted ot Senior Princess Joni Jones escorted by John Grayg Junior Princess Mary Adele Dennis escorted by Danny McNewg Sophomore Princess Jeannie Anderson escorted by Tony Diaz, and Tommie Smith, Freshman Princess, escorted by Willy Hammond. Concluding the celebra- tion was the Homecoming Dance at the Hilton lnn with West Wind providing the entertainment. All of this added up to one ot the most unforgettable events of the school year, Homecoming 1973. Homecoming 1973
