Who Are We? For now , we are students at Andrean High School. We call ourselves Niners, short for Fifty Niners, derived from the fact that our school first opened in 1959, and from our address, 5959 Broadway, Merrillville, Indiana. But what are Niners ? Niners are students. We are enthusiastic, reluctant, outstanding, or struggling. But we return each year to continue the learning that will help us to become educated men and women in a world that will soon be our responsibility. Niners are builders. We begin in freshman year to build the foundation that will help us gain admission to colleges and career fields, and to develop the values and habits that will structure our lives. Niners are friends. We form friendships that last beyond the years we spend here. We encourage each other. We are generous in supporting missions and causes.
