With the growing interde- pendence of nations, commu- nication between different peoples takes on added impor- tance. Through the Language Department’s programs in French, Spanish, German, and Latin, students are given an opportunity to learn to communicate in different lan- guages, to explore the back- ground and culture of differ- ent nations and races. The social studies department aims to provide the balance necessary in a student’s education. It attempts to give insights into today’s world through an examination of its social, political, and eco- nomic institutions.
