IN APPRECIATION The Class of 1964 salutes - but with deep regret - one of our most respected and beloved teachers, Miss E. Marjorie Smith, as she retires at the close of the present school year. It has been our good fortune to share with so many classes before us the grace, dignity, competence, and versatility with which she has so deeply impressed the Andover community, particularly the high school, since Miss Smith joined the faculty in 1926. Her wide range of teaching has extended from mathematics to Spanish, French, and, ultimately, to the position of Head of the Foreign Language Department. She has given much in time and effort to many of our activities. Most noteworthy of all has been her leadership as Faculty Advisor of the local chapter of the National Honor Society since its inception more than a decade ago. As Miss Smith leaves us, we are confident of the fact that we speak not only for ourselves but for her many former students, colleagues, Cpast and presentj and for the town to which she gave so much, in wishing her many happy and well-deserved years of retirement.
