l-llstory of the lFreshman Class For many years we had looked forward to the trme when we would b come hrgh school students On September 13 1926 the long aw alted oppor tunlty arrlved On that day our class srxteen rn number made our first ap pearance rn the Anderson Valley Umon Hlgh School Soon after school opened Lawrence Pasero left us but our number was Increased by l-larrtet Campbell Edna Freathy Charmam Svyanson and lVlaur1ce Farrer jommg our ranks After Chrxstmas our number was agam decreased by thc loss of Charles ,levy ett and Charmaln Swanson The thlrd week tn Aprll Dorothy Carrol camr. lnto our class After we had been tn school a few days the class orgamled and elected the Presldent Merym Chambers Vlce Presrdent Eya Wtlkln Secretary Treasurer Dorothy de Roster Our class has taken an actlve part m varlous school acttvttnes XVe gave a program on Washrngton s B1rthday Eva W1lk1n and Rosebud DeW1tt were substrtutes on the gurls basketball team lVlaur1ce Farrer Percy Fxelds John Peterson Ross Adams and Charles .lewett were members of the B basketball team Eva Wllkln Ross Adams Deady Farrer Mervxn Chambers Jeanne Jylkka Edna Freathy and Dorothy de Rosler were members of the cast for the play Be An Opttmlst Eva Wrlktn and Ross Adams were members of the A V Fortnrte staff and the other freshman g1rls took the responslbllxty of foldmg the papers for the A V Fortmte ln addltlon to this the fresh man grrls were the mam helpers of Mrs Shambaugh rn conductlng the school lunch We apprec1ate the drgmfied mfluence of the Senlors and are grateful to Mr Reed for hrs farthful gurdance as faculty advlser rn our freshman year Eva Wllkrn fl!
