The perfecrion achieved fhrough many long hours of pracfice succeeded in rousing borh rhe young and old fans, who spurred rhe ream on ro vicrory or accepr- ed rheir defear gracefully. Michelle Kinder summed up rhe feelings of rhe cheerleaders wifh rhese words, Cheering means fhe world ro me. I love ro represenr my school and promore school spirirf' Afrer surviving rhe exrremely srressful rryours, rhey made worfhy repre- senrarives, roo. Their sponsor Mrs. Jo Funls subjecred rhem ro rigorous pracrice where rhey learned new cheers and perfecred rhe old ones. Wirh all of rheir fire and dererminarion, rhe cheerleaders led rhe devofed crowds ro super spirir levels. ln addirion TO rhe perfectly drilled female cheerleaders, AHS sporred a few experrly- drilled male cheerleaders. These guys were all members of rhe A-Club wirh lively personaliries and lofs of spirir. Affer being chosen by rhe varsiry cheerleaders, rhe guys supporred rhem physically and vocal- ly during rhe games. They were also re- sponsible for rhe zany srunrs, such as spell- ing Indians on rhe floor wirh rheir bodies and doing rhe surfer, The male cheer- leaders had a grear rime and conveyed rhar fun info rhe audience.
