As one of the work programs, DECA combined classroom work with on-the-job training to pro- vide a background in business and retailing. In class, DECA students devised sales demonstrations, worked on tax returns and designed store displays. Each student was required to work at least l5 hours a week and was graded by both the employer and the teacher, Mr. Montgomery.
