Winning Team, Novelties Spur Pep Session Spirit Pep Sessions had an added dash this year since the athletic teams were winning and the Pep Sessions Coni- mittee was working overtime to pro- vide something different. Seniors formed a cheering block before the regional and stuck with it throughout the losing game to Crispus Attucks. AHS girls got into the act this year when they staged an all-girl pep session. Skits were on the clever side too being put o11 by school clubs. During the football and basketball seasons the Hot Dogs were roasted, Indian oppon- ents Were burned at the stake, a loyal Indian fan was shot, powdered, and smacked with a pie, and a teacher was scalped. Late in the year more faculty mem- bers got into the spirit with three leading yells in hula skirts, and one doing the Indian mascot dances. But the biggest show of spirit came in the regional basketball tournament when more than 5,000 Anderson fans, largest single delegation present, shook the rafters at Butler Fieldhouse. 7 Mr. Vern Sliinn gets n scalping ttnp picture? as the AHS stutlv-nt Iiiclians gn on the warpath at a region- al pep session. This was just one of the features presented during pre-tourney festivities.
