The Seniors ranked lirsl wilh each ol lheir eleven homerooms oblaining IOOW lo lheir enrollmenl. As has been lhe cuslom lor lhe lasl several years, class meelings were held in lhe audilorium early in lhe semesler wilh Mr. Porler in-lroducing lhe various class ollicers and explaining lhe general rules ol lhe school. Fire Prevention Week Recognized ln Al lS Relurning lor a shorl lurlough belore being senl overseas lor lhe Red Cross. Miss Mary Rulh Palmer visiled school and allended lhe various class periods ol lhe vocal music deparlmenl. New Allendance Plan A new scheme lor laking allendance in lhe library was inlroduced and explained lo sludenls. ln lhe plan each sludenl has his own permanenl library card which will save lime and also make lor lewer inac- curacies. The annual Fire Prevenlion Convo was held on Ocl. IO. Demonslralions ol lires caused by.gasoline and broken lighl bulbs were made. Also aclual lire was used on lhis program lor lhe lirsl lime in any de- monslralion. Lelling no unnecessary lime elapse so lhal sludenls could roam lhe halls les- pecially seniorsl wilhoul inlra-murals, lhe head monilors and monilors were chosen lor lhe coming year. The monilors are headed by lhe lwo deans. Qualilicalions lor lhe posilion ol monilors are C or bel- ler in all subiecls and a personalily raling ol lhree or beller in all lrails lisled. The I Ionor STudy I-IaII was promoTed by The STudenT Council wiTh This being The Third year. Book Exchange Run As in previous years The book exchange was open Tor sTudenT use wiTh Joe Van- Camp and IvIarTha Arn GuanT serving as co-chairmen. During The TweIve-day open- ing The exchange made a proTiT oT 9250.00 This was a sIighT decrease as compared wiTh proTiT in oTher years.
