Board of Education Five citizens of the city of Anderson compose the Board of Education. These men are appointed by the mayor of Anderson and the appointment is con- firmed by the city council. They are elected for a term of three years. Several changes have been made this year in the school board. Foust Childers has been appointed to succeed Elmer Downey, Whose sudden death took place early this spring. Robert Critchfield resigned and Glen Rogers was appoint- ed to take his place. Arthur Campbell Superintendent and Principal Arthur Campbell, Superintendent of the Anderson schools, was graduated from high school at French Lick, Indy- iana. After graduation, he attended Ball State College and there received his Bachelor of Arts degree. His Mas-A ter's degree came from Butler Univer- sity. The honorary degree of Doctor of Law was bestowed upon him by Ander- son College. A. H. S.'s principal, Stanley Porter, came here tvvo years ago. He was a graduate of the Edinburg High School. After high school, Mr. Porter received his B. A. degree from Franklin College, and his M. A. from Indiana University. 1
