The English course aims to give the student these skills: 1. Command of proper usage in Eng- lish, both oral and written, through a study of technical English. 2. Knowledge of booksg and ability to read thoughtfully and with appre- eiation. A course in elements of Journal- ism is open to third and fourth year students. It is generally acknowledged that mathematics is inti- mately coonnected with everyday life and is necessary for the successful conduct of modern day affairs. In this age of iron, steam, and electricity a knowledge of mathematics is nee- essary. Two specific values derived from this study are these: first, it serves as a foundation for future occupationg second, it is a mode of thought.
