Second row: Harold Jones, Paul Newbern, Earl Schmidt, Athletic Board The season just closed has been one of the best in athletics that A. H. S. has witnessed in several years. Only through the untiring elforts of the At'ile'ic Board and cooperation of the student body has this success been obtained. The Athletic Board is the guiding hand of all athletic activities in A, H. S. During the past season it has again brought football back into the athletic realms of A. H. S. after an absence of almost twenty years. The Athletic Board's biggest aim has been to promote cleaner and better sportsmanship in A. H. S. athletics. It is striving hard to procure a better class spirit by fosteringa Track and Field 'meet each year at the close of the school term. The first meet of this kind was held last year and a silver loving cup was awarded the Freshman Class for win- ning first honors. Now that the precedent of holding inter-class track meets has been established, it is hoped that this new venture sponsored by the Athletic Board and School ath- letic officials will continue to receive the unbounded support and enthusiasm of the students of A, H, S. The first meet' held last year at the Athletic Park was a complete success. Anderson is known for its true sportsmanship and will strive harder each year to obtain further heights. The officers for the past year were :-Paul Newbern, Pres.g Earl Schmidt. Vice- Pres.g Harold Jones, Sec. The Faculty members were Mr, Brinson, Mr. Cook, Mr, Sharpe and Mr. Maier. l 26
