The Fire Prince The 1-ire l'rinee . an opcretta in two ants, was the annual dw matic proflnc- tion of the Music department this year. The scene ol' the story was in Pantnullia. The Crown Pri'n'e,. Prigio, was a clever young fellow, and was very unpt-gmlar he-cause of it. Everyone in the liingdom. except ltrigio and his mother. believed in fairies. A great heat scourge fell upon the land. which was said tri be caused bv a Firedrake. The Firedrake was a mvthilogical reptile that was suizposecl to breathe flames, lt was Prigio's place to tight this creature. hut he w-.'sn't superstitious and he didn't believe there was a Firedrake. llis two brothers fought the rehtile and were killed by il. The King disinherited Prigio and moved the covrt to Falkenstein. Prigio was left alone. Prigio had met and fallen in love with ltosa, the Spanish Amhassador's daugh- ter. The fairies had letit Prigio some magic gifts at his birth, and he now decided to try out these gifts. His seven league boots took him to Falkenstein and here he remained undis- covered by means of his magic cap. Prigio made himself known to Rosa She exnressed a desire for the horns and tail of the Firedrake and Prigio went immediatelv to fight it. Prigio killed the Firedrake and brought its horns and tail to Rosa. He restored his brothers to life by magic and he received the King's pardon. Rosa and Prigio were married and as the fairy tale goes: lived happily ever after. Prigio, the Fire Prince. was very realistic as portrayed by George Turner. The part of Rosa, was very ably done bv Miss Georgiana George. Kenneth Ritter was well adapted to his part as the King. and Paul Newbern as the Butler was never once out of character.
