S. when Mr, Carman, head coach, made a call for candidates on the first day of school, Forty- five candidates responded to the call and the process of whipping a team into shape was put underway. Only a few of the boys knew the fundamentals of the game so it was a hard grind from the start to the finish. Much credit must be given Coach Carman for the untiring effort he put forth in teaching the boys form, From 3:45 until after dark the thud of the pigskin could be heard at Athletic Park, Owing to the fact that the team was formed from green material the season may be considered a suc- cess, A schedule of six games was played during the season A. H. S, won one, tied two, and lost three. Coach Carman is holding spring practise and it is evident that a much better team will represent A, H. S, next fall. The re-establishing of football as an institution in A, H, S. is of great interest historically. Before the last season, Anderson had not been represented by a football team for more than tlfteeu years. Duc to an accident which resulted in the death of one of the players, this field of athletics was dropped and probably would never have been replaced had it not been for the favorable vote taken by the student body. Only a few minor injuries were received by the boys this year and with more experience accidents will be eliminated almost entirely, COACH as M A CAPTAI
