A shadow slowly moves down the hall with key in hand. A click of the lock, CI flip of the lights, and thus begins another day at Andersonts Book- store. In an instant Karen Brullier and Pat Cruyd croft ioin Marsha Worth in their daily duty as morning salesmen. Soon the familiar faces of Charles Scott, Becky Beer, Carol Adams, Bob Dickmcn, Mimi Rush, Cathy Paterson, Craig Heneveld and Howard Bell crowd around to learn the latest gossip. And, oh yes! There is Pearl Varney, fighting his way through the crowd to buy a pencil. All too soon the bell rings, and students are forced to move to their homerooms. Now announcements have been made, attend- ance token, and everyone is off to a club meet- ing, a class or the Bookstore. Since this includes Karen, 0 replacement must be found. Fortunately Cindy Koger is able and eager, and as money comes in for the Water Ballet, SOUTH PACIFIC and Pep Club, everyone on both sides of the counter becomes thoroughly confused. Then Judy Moday asks for the Student Council minutes. The crowd clears fast, however, as clubs and cicsses get underway. One lone soul remains. Dick Fiege begins to cry when he hears the to- miliur tune HSorry Dick, we're out of change; check the officef' Dickts in luck today, however, for Sue Emery approaches with nickle in hand to purchase her daily penci!. Eight-thirty and all is well. Suddenly the calm is interrupted by Merry Hcmiiton and Marilyn Johns, two poor creatures who insist they need one more opinion to meet their deadline for the Chieftain; and iust as the bell sounds, Phyllis Ly- man hurriedly pulls out her dime for cu pack of papermofter all there are so many notes to take. Quickly the window is pulled down, the tights flipped off, and the door slammed, as Pot runs to her second bell class. The day's not over, for as lunch approaches, the Bookstore is once again opened for business. Gil Stognoro appears to work saying that Chuck McDonald has gone to lunch with Bob chsinger. HFine, Marsha replies, Hbut I thought it was Becky Houchen's day to work. The fumitior faces of Chris Dollmann 0nd Mon- ica Wymer can be seen as they hoid on extended conversation in the lobby. As Janet West ap- proaches, Chris informs her that she can pick up the Y-Teens' poster at the Bookstore. Meonwhiie back at the Bookstore, jokes are told, GSsignments are checked, and a delivery of paperbacks is received. Mr. Tobin will be happy now-for his special edition of TgLe 9f M CM has finally arrived, and with its arrival comes a mass of sophomores eager to buy the Bookstore's latest HBest Setter. Finally the school day ends; Marsha deposits the day's receipts with Miss Nash and completes the entry in the Bookstore's ledger. Thus ends another day at the Student Council Bookstore.
