Representatives of civic organizations at- tend Senior High School dedication. TO THE SENIORS: This class will be remembered as the first Senior Class to graduate from our new Anderson Senior High School. More importantly, however, this class will be remem- bered as one which has the potential to achieve w the extent to which this potential is realized is dependent upon your ability to discriminate in all things, remem- bering that with success must come Hblood, sweat, and tears? The sociologist and the scientist tell us that one out of every ten youth will become a mental case; one out of every twelve will become a chronic alcoholic, and that by the end of the nineteen sixties, our divorce rate will equal the marriage rate, and that we are only approxi- mately one hour away from total destruction. ttThese are the times that try merits souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered, yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph, What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly; it is deamess only that gives everything its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods? The kind of person you choose to be will help deter- mine the kind of world we live in, Learn to love that which is good, hate that which is evil, to be fair in play, honest in work, and faithful even in that which is the least It is my fond hope that you will find a bit of heaven on earth and that you will reap much happiness and en- joyment in the years to come. tho wkww 34:514. Its main activities include sponsoring Homecoming, the Christmas Formal, Bermuda Day, the Senior-Faculty volleyball game, and a spring dance. This year the Student Council has taken over the responsibility of running the Book- store in the hope that the profits may be used to buy furniture for the lobby and the patio. Another important project is the awarding of a scholarship to an out- standing member of the graduating class. Student Council Officers, Kenneth Bums, President, Martha McDaniel, Treasurer, Forest Heis, Vice-President, and Christine Worth, Secretary, hope the bookstore will end the year in ' the black?
