Gtcua auofzite To Mrs. Mary Struke, we, the Class of 1950, dedicate our yearbook in the hope that we can express to her our appreciation for all the help she has given us. It is a steep, steep climb up the narrow ladder that goes to the very highest pinnacle ofthe Big Top of life, but she was always there showing us the way. Across the straight and narrow tightrope to our goal she was the balancing stick that kept us always straight and on the right way. Through her superior knowledge, experience, and understanding, we glimpsed a new world. She gave us the greatest gifts of all-the desire for knowledge and the ability to appreciate the fine things of the world. She taught us the meaning of, and helped us to live by our mottof Non vivere sed valere in vita - Not merely to exist, but to amount to something in life.
