C. ANDERSON 1967 Austin, Texas Table Of TI LE GE CONTENT FO EWO D ED C ON N T O OA D OF T U TEES CUL T FF i N O JUN O CKET HICH SCHOOL VOLUME Published By The Graduating Class Contents SOPI-I OM ORES FAVORITES WHO S WHO AWARDS ORGANIZATIONS ATHLETICS ACTIVITIES ADVERTISERS AUTOGRA PHS Foreword It has been said that one opens a good book with anticipation and closes it with profit. The basic idea in planning the 1967 YELLOW JACKET YEARBOOK has been the creation of a book that will meet these requirements. To have a successful publication, a yearbook must fulfill its obligation to the student and the school. If a student, perusing his yearbook, can place himself in a scene or can enjoy an accomplishment, the yearbook has succeeded. If the actions in the school by the administrators, teachers and students are correctly portrayed, then the yearbook has succeeded. We hope you feel the YELLOW JACKET has succeeded for we have tried to plan the yearbook to depict joyful times and thoughtful moments for the picture story ofthe year. Each division page features an insignia symbolic of what is to follow. In addition, it has been assembled for the specific purpose of preserving memories for you: to portray as many of the events and activities that you would like most to remember. I would like to express my gratitude to those who so obligingly helped with this publication. My sincere thanks to the patrons, both within and without the school, for their gracious supportg to the staff forworking very, very, hard besides using extra time. I would like to thank the student body whole heartedly for both participation and support for the yearbook could not have been accomplished without you. Now as you begin reading the history of this year with a great deal of anticipa- tion---and after you have read your yearbook and closed it, it is hoped that you will have reaped a profit of renewed memories of the days of the BLACK and GOLD.
