MRS, MABLE STINNETTE -CAMPBELL In appreciation for her helpfulness, cheerfulness and friendly interest, the staff affec- tionately dedicates to the memory of Mrs. Mable Stinnette-Campbell the 1956 edition of the Anderson High School YELLOW JACKET YEARBOOK, Her interest in the Austin Public Schools and thousands of children, with whom she came in contact, will always be remembered as one of our most precious high school memories, Words cannot express our appreciation for her various contributions to the schools but to show how much we love, honor and respect them, the ANDERSON HIGH SCHOOL YELLOW JACKET STAFF takes this method of saying, WE'LL NE'ER FORGET YOU, -1956 YELLOW JACKET STAFF HMB, C BNWBE LL YNXL-LX ' ' al Pfbncmp Prin,cQUal's Message CONGRATULATIONS AND GREETINGS TO THE 1956 GRADUATING CLASS for having been so cooperative. You have achieved well and you are fortunate to receive such training at a time when a look toward the future shows a brighter horizon than has ap- peared to any of the classes which have gone before you for a period of many years, What you are and what you do in the years that now begin will be measured by your intelligence and your standard of values. Our hope is that through your association with each other, with your teachers, and with other friends and neighbors, you may have grown in the accumulation and understanding of knowledge in the social graces, in the ability to get along with others, and in the desire to do something worthwhile. The world demands a high degree of competency from the youth of today, and that is why we have insisted that you consider your work seriously and make certain that you obtain the most from your present opportunities. We, also, hope that you will carry with you a spirit of peace and good will for all man- kind so that as you approach the future you will have an abiding faith in God, who directs the destiny of man. If you do so, it will help you lessen the problems that you will meet also help you solve your problems satisfactorily, A last hope is that your time spent at Anderson High School has been and will be, not only the most pleasant of your lives, but will serve to give you the background for con- tinued advancement in whatever field you may choose, May God bless and keep each of you, I am Yours for a successful future, Principal CCHA! li f f.i W 5 3: 53+ 533 ip i H11 5XE ,,5a?3-f Board of Trustees AUSTIN PUBLIC SCHOOLS NOBLE W, PRENTICE - - - President WALTER R, KOCH - - - - - Vice President MRS, GARRIE E, BRAY - - - Secretary MEMBERS Mrs. Garrie E. Nothing useless is, or low, Each thing in its place is bestg And what seems but idle show Strengthens and supports the rest, For the structure that we raise, Time is with materials filled, Our todays and yesterdays Are the blocks with which we build Truly shape and fashion these, Leave no yawning gaps between, Think not, because no man sees, Such things will remain unseen, In the elder days of Art, Builders wrought with greatest care Each minute and unseen part, For the gods see everywhere, Let us do our work as well, Both the unseen and the seen, Make the house where gods may dwell Beautiful, entire, and clean. Else our lives are incomplete, Standing in these walls of Time, Broken stairways, where the feet Stumb1e,' as they seek to climb. Build today, then strong and sure, With a firm and ample base, And ascending and secure Shall tomorrow find its place, Thus alone can we attain To those turrets, where the eye Sees the world as one vast plain, And one boundless reach of sky. -Henry Wadsworth Longfellow SW' O ' .wfiW55fY:E1f5?.:-VL - x sr .... M. E, Church and Proposed Educational Building designed to adjoin the present structure, The building, when completed, will be equipped with all modern facilities to meet the needs of the present day trend of Religious Education. Reverend McCormick was assigned to the church by Bishop Joseph Gomez in November 19543 a few months later he began raising funds to construct a building to meet the ever increasing needs of the Church. Along with the regular Church Budget of approximately 312, 000, 00 per year 353, 500, 00 has been raised exclusively for building. The parsonage and church renovated at a cost of one thousand dollars all of this has been done in twelve months. Too much praise cannot be given this loyal membership for their love and devotion to God and the great cause they represent, and who for the most part has followed the leadership of this ambassador of God, It is our hope that the building will be ready for occupancy about the latter part of 1956. THE PASTOR, TWENTY ONE BOARDS AND AUXILIARIES, THIRTY-SIX CLASS LEADERS AND THE ENTIRE MEMBERSHIP EXTEND THEIR HEARTY CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 1956. 5.?.!:E...f!'!2.ff 'A Q1 um.Tfm'Hm, Q 4 ! l I S915 KIYCHEN CH MPION Compliments of AA AUTO PARTS COMPANY New and Used Parts Accessories, Especialty I TREAT YOU WHITE J, A, BOYD, Owner 612 E. 6th St. Austin Phone GR 70670 Open Sunday Until 2 P, M, C ompliments of CECDVVN TAILORS Austin Style Center For Young Men Compliments of GROVE DRUG COMPANY 209 East Sixth Phone GR 8-1664 Austin, Texas For Complete Lnsurance On Your Home - Auto - Business Call 1-1 AIQPE 12 INSURANCE SERVICE 1010 Lavaca Austin, Te x Phone GR 2.-7989 Our Customers Save Up to 2570 3.S I-I AQLENI THEATRE Adults 3555 Children 1041 Cinemascope and Wide Screen 1800 East 12th Street Phone GR 8-3533 CAI-2Vl: 14 THEATRE Adults 2555 Children 10?
