The disappoinTmenT came from The delay of Two months in geTTing The uniforms, causing The Marching BearcaTs To march over half of Their conTesTs in blue jeans and T-shirts. The uniforms, however, were worTh The waiT. 'lWe looked 40096 beTTer in uniform, said director Gary Burton. NoT having uniforms really affected our show, buT nexT year will be a real good one. Chorus Excels Through a TryouT procedure, sTudenTs were placed in eiTher regular chorus or advanced chorus, a new class This year. Advanced Chorus offers several Things such as a varieTy of liTeraTure, more challenging liTeraTure, Theory, and music appreciaTion, said Mrs. Sara Burton, insTrucTor. ChrisTmas provided The opporTuniTy for beginning a show choir as members of The Advanced Chorus choreographed numbers of Their musical. IT was presenTed To The sTudenT body. ln addiTion, The ChrisTmas musical was presenTed aT EBW school, aT The STewarT Home, and aT CresTwood BapTisT Church in FrankforT one Sunday evening. ln The spring several groups compeTed aT ConTesT including The Advanced Chorus, boTh a girls' and a boys' ensemble, a mixed ensemble, and several solos. AT conTesT you don'T compeTe againsT oTher schools, said junior Meredith Hyatt. lT's really againsT yourself. You geT raTed. Nearly all The groups received superior ratings.
