Academic Teams Not AT Best Mathematics coach Beverly Stivers in- structs her team before a home match. Buzzing in on a question, senior Steven Steele prepares to give an answer for the math team. 86 - Academic Team Despite having a high-quality team consisting of many return- ing seniors and quite a few tal- ented returning underclassmen, the academic team ended up with only a 3-42 record for The season. The other schools were larger and had more depTh, com- mented senior Richard Meyer, who led The science team and, with senior Steven Steele, The math Team in scoring. Senior Rachel Dockal, who led both the humanities and English literature teams, added, The main reason for our poor season was The lack of interest in- voIved. Junior Marty Terry also did his share of The work by leading The social studies team. The High-Q team fell to Wood- ford Co. in The second round of Hin the Know and closed the year 'i-2. Waiting for competition To start, senior l-iigh-Q Team members Mark Sea, Richard Meyer, and Rachel Dockal pose for the camera. The team went on to defeat Wolf Co, Jeff Fint, Rachel Dockal, Charlie Miller, Sean Cantrill, Binoj George, Steven Steele, Mark Sea, Marty Terry, Tracey Turner, Shae McEwen, Kristi Dixon, Coach Jane Ross.

Ready, Willing, And Able Members of FFA are always ready To lend a help- ing hand, willing To do Things better, and most cer- Tainly have shown They're able. This year's chapter accomplished everyThing They set out To do and more. AT The regional FFA Day aT The University of Kentucky, They received superior raTings in beef producTion, forage produc- Tion, Tobacco production, placement in ag., public speaking and Turf and landscape management. 500A of our chapter aTTended The conTesT which was The besT percenTage in The sTaTe. Last summer They attended The STaTe Livestock Show aT Eastern Ky. University where They placed Third ouT of 43 chapters. Senior Todd Elllott re- ceived a perfect score in The sheep judging divi- sion. ln order To become a STaTe Farmer, Their accom- plishments in production, projecTs, leadership, and Their activities are evaluated over a number of years. Seniors Davld Bird and Todd Elliot have re- ceived This award. Only Two percent of The sTaTe members are chosen for This honor. The chapter also entered a floaT in The ChrisTmas parade TiTled - 'lAmerican Ag. - We Feed The People. On The floaT were differenT aspecTs of farm life. Club president David Blrd calls The meet- ing to order as Mr. Vernon Sutton, spon- sor, looks Through some papers.
