Academic Teams Not AT Best Mathematics coach Beverly Stivers in- structs her team before a home match. Buzzing in on a question, senior Steven Steele prepares to give an answer for the math team. 86 - Academic Team Despite having a high-quality team consisting of many return- ing seniors and quite a few tal- ented returning underclassmen, the academic team ended up with only a 3-42 record for The season. The other schools were larger and had more depTh, com- mented senior Richard Meyer, who led The science team and, with senior Steven Steele, The math Team in scoring. Senior Rachel Dockal, who led both the humanities and English literature teams, added, The main reason for our poor season was The lack of interest in- voIved. Junior Marty Terry also did his share of The work by leading The social studies team. The High-Q team fell to Wood- ford Co. in The second round of Hin the Know and closed the year 'i-2.
