Diiterent Strokes Many ACI-IS students have hobbies. Some are out to make money, some To pass The time away, and others just like to help people. Several students are artists. They like to draw for enjoyment. Others give art lessons or do art work for people To make money. I draw for fun more than anything, but sometimes I can make a little extra money for my work, said senior Tim Todd. Some students like to entertain people by acting or dancing. Senior Rachel Dockal likes To spend some of her spare time acting with The Community Theatre. I have a great Time acting, said Rachel. Freshman Twins Karen and Kristi Clark help Teach dancing. 'Dancing is a great way to stay in shape, said Kristi. I have a really good Time when l'm dancing. Other students have unusual habbies such as vol- unteering for The fire department. These people make hobbies out of helping others. I Think iT's a really good experience, said senior Todd Elliott. 28 Prom Prep The week of April 24-25 proved to be an ex- tremely busy week for The students at ACHS who helped decorate for Prom '86. Setting up for the Prom can definitely take up a lot of one's free time. No one can imagine how much there is to do until They are faced with actual- ly doing iT, said junior Meredith Hyatt. There are streamers to hang, balloons to plow up and candles to light, not To mention hiring a band and picking ushers and servers. We felt we did a fairly good job considering all we had to work with was The gym, said junior Ann Richmond. After the gym was decorated, juniors and seniors had a chance to relax and plan Their prom activi- Ties. lvlost students went with other couples to dif- ferent restaurants. My date and another couple went to Darryl's, said junior Sally Cook. lt's more fun when you go with other people. Some students chose to eat at home or at a friend's house. We grilled out steaks at Debbie Stevens. lt was casual and that always makes it more fun, said senior Jlll Prlce. After all of the Pre-prom activities were over ap- proximately 248 students finally made their way to the ACHS gym for A Night To Cherish. Junior Kathy Lilkenhus irons some tablecloths. Smiling for the camera after their dinner are junior Linda Richards, seniors Llsa Bagwell, Lisa Shelton, and Lisa Boblett with their dates, junior Damon Sea, Bryan Turner, Marty Goodlett, and Tom Burns. Working diligently, junior Sally Cook glued pomps into chicken wire which was later used as the entrance way for the prom. Before prom, alumnus Mark Lilly and seniors Marti Thompson and Liz Isaac chow down on freshly grilled steaks at a friend's house. - Prom ...wi
