Board Changes ConTroversies . . . a word ThaT The Anderson CounTy School Board knows well. Among Those ThaT were highlighfed This year were decisions To pur- chase new band uniforms for S25,000, To Take Three days off spring break for snow days, To buy a com- puTer sysTem for The office, and To refuse The insTall- menT of air condiTioning in The schools, again. 'lWe can'T please everyone all The Time, buf we Try To do whaT we Think is besT aT The Time, said SuperinTendenT Paul Polly. Some sTudenTs aT ACHS feel ThaT They have a way To help The Board please more people more of The Time. The idea, which appeared in an ediTorial on The Bearfacfs page in The local paper, suggesfs placing a sTudenT as a i'siT in on The Board. A sTudenT on The school board could share his ideas abouT issues ThaT affecT oTher sTudenTs, said sophomore Donny Murphy.
