Alumni Day Alumni Day 1980 marked the end of a race as the last Sor- orian class held their Golden Anniversary. The Sororian class is made up of alumni who attended AC when it was a four-year women ' s school. Over 35 members of the class attend- ed. John W. Sullivan, ' 67, presi- dent of Sullivan Motor Com- pany and secretary-treasurer of Sir Pontiac, received the Alum- ni Achievement Award, given each year to an alumnus who has excelled in professional de- velopment and service to the college and community. Ethel Hembree, ' 27, received the Alumni Service Award; Mrs. Sarah B. Greer received the Annie Dove Denmark award for service to the college; the Faculty Achievement Award was given to Mrs. Mary R. Martin, chairman of the home economics and fashion merchandising department at A.C. Dr. Rust presents Mrs. Mary Martin the Faculty Award from the Alumni for Excellence in teaching. The last Sororian class celebrates their Golden Anniversary. 50 years of progress is observed by some of the graduating class of 1930. 20 Alumni Day

Phi Theta Kappa Phi Theta Kappa, a national honor fraternity, was a service organization with a 3.5 G.P.A. minimum for mem- bership. Each year national honors theme was planned. They are assisted by marshalls who consist of freshmen who have a chieved the highest G.P.A. scores in their class. They also participate in commencement in the spring. Outstanding academic freshmen were chosen as 1980 Graduation Marshalls. Students graduating with honors are: First row, from left, Sharon Sosebee, Margaret S.
