This Is Our School In 1902 the first brick school was built in Andalusia on the present East Three-Notch Elementary School site. Before this, classes had been held in churches and small frame buildings. The tenth school to be accredited in Alabama by the Southern Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges was Andalusia High School now East Three Notch School built in 1914 Church Street School was built in 1921 and served as the high school until 1938 when the present building was con structed The latest addition to the school system in Andalusia is the h1gh school annex bu11t in 1955 .-,sf Annex Stadium

C3 De Soto explored Covington County in his conquest, and the Spanish established a little settlement on the Conecuh River which came to be known as Montezuma. People from Georgia and the Carolinas flocked in after a Federal law of 1836 ordered all Indians to be moved west of the Mississippi. when the floods of the Conecuh and Patsaliga Rivers brought disaster and disease to Montezuma in 1841, the County Seat was moved to a place safe on the watershed. It was first called New Site and then Anda1usia. Andrew Jackson notched a trail enroute to New Orleans which is identified today with East and South Three-Notch Streets in Andalusia.
