'gigs 5, f 7 yt .Ll V. ,V Q unwrlif S l x :eau Junior Class Hlstory When we enrolled as bashful freshmen 1n the fall of 1937, our class numbered twenty-two Slster Mary VIC- torlne was our class sponsor Durmg that f1rst year we planted trees- and donated the statute, Study to the school l1brary Returnmg the next year as sophomores, we found that two of our classmates B111 Peltzer and Vlncent Ho helsel, had enrolled 1n another school A th1rd classmate, Herman Bogner, had declded not to come the second year so only nmeteen sophomores answered roll call that year As Jumors we were very much grat1f1ed to f1nd that three new members had 1o1ned our class B111 Peltzer had returned from Garden Pla1n E1leen Dofflng had come to us from St John s Academy 1n W1Ch1ta, and Gertrude Kruse resumed her stud1es after belng out of school one year At the begmnmg of the second semester, We were glad to welcome two more new members NaDean Whlt- mer from Dorrance, Kansas and Evlene Kerschen dues Tlns money was saved for our prospectlve sen1or tour next year Our most 1mportant act1v1t1es as Jumors were the Jumor play, Too Many Smlths , and the Jumor sen1or banquet Durmg our three years of h1gh school hfe, var1ous Jumors were members of The Shadow staff of operetta and all school play casts, of football baseball, softball, basketball, and track teams Last sprlng one of our class mates, Arch1e Forster, played a clarmet solo at the All State MUSIC Festlval at Emporla, thereby Wlnnlng recog n1t1on for h1mse1f, h1s class, and h1s Alma Mater Next f ll W1ll f1nd us the Senlors of 41 .
