'Ihe citizenship consists of sixty-live students who are divided into four orders: Senatorial, consisting of ieniors and .uniorsg liquestrian, Qophomoresg Plebians Freshmen, and Iibertini, free from Latin. The whole organization is modeled after the plan of the Roman Republic, 1nd the state holds meetings once a month at which program: are presented, to create and promote interest in the Latin language. The two presiding Confulf, are elected by the Qenatorial order but the remainder of candidates announce their candidacy and 'after a qhort campaign the election is held. The society ha: pins on which the seal of the Roman Qtate, 9. P. Q. R., is inscribed. The Romm State give: one public program each year, the proceeds of which 1re used to buy something .uggeitive of Rome or latin, to beautify the Latin Room. A freize, the Dancing Bacchantes 1 buit of Caesar and a bust of Yergil have been purchased. The members of the Roman irate try also to present one As:embly program annually. A Romin Wedding and A Roman Qchool all parts of which were given in Latin, hate been given in the past.
