II Santa Rosa 22 Analy 12 In the opening game of the season Analy faced the well- balanced Santa Rosa Panthers. Analy showed in that game that they were going to be a team to reckon with in the 1969 football season. Defensive lineman Lester Pinola was named PLAYER of the WEEK. Ukiah 34 A naly 35 The Tigers took a 13-0 half-time lead and came back on the field in the 2nd half a little too confident and the Dragons managed to tie up the game 13-13. Defensive back Roger Forget received PLAYER of the WEEK honors. Sonoma 13 Analy 13 The Wildcats proved to be one of the hardest hitting teams the Tigers played in the 69 season. In that game Analy came from behind to win it. PLAYER of the WEEK was linebacker Steve LaBlue. PinerO Analy 6 Tigers in this game showed their defensive strength by stop- ping the Prospectors offense within the 10 yard line several times and stopped them from scoring. Paul Yeager was named PLAYER of the WEEK. 32 Rancho Cotate 12 Analy 43 In the encounter with the inexperienced Rancho Cotate Cou- gers, the Tigers offense exploded for 43 points. Quarterback Wes Nott was named PLAYER of the WEEK. 42 Steve LaBlue Al Ballctto pulls one in. Milch Stogner leads around end. 33 Healdsburge 6 Analy 27 Against the Hounds the Tigers finally put everything together, a strong defense and a powerful offense. Offense guard, Mitch Stogner received PLAYER of the WEEK honors. Nick Jensen (20) leads the way for Larry Poncetta (40) on kick-off return. Marin Catholic 13 Analy 13 The Tigers went into the non-league encounter with several players injured and sick and came out with a tie. Halfback Vertis Spigner was named PLAYER of the WEEK. Cardinal Newmen 28 Analy 0 In the game to decide the NBL II Champ, the Tigers fought their toughest opponent of the season. The score was no indication of what the contest was like. Except for a few mis-cues, the game was on even battle. In that game the PLAYER of the WEEK went to halfback Lee Clements. 34 Paul Yeager (50) and Roger Porget (23) close in on Marin Catholu bJI carrier. El Molino 0 Analy 26 Analy Varsity football team destroyed the intra-district rivals in a completely lopsided game by a score of 26-0. After the misleading loss to the Cardinal Newman Cardinals “Big Brother blew “Little Brother off the field by out gaining the Lions by 199 yards and picking up 13 more first downs than the Lions could muster. El Molino gained only 94 yards with their single wing offense and the Lion defense crumpled under the pitter-patter of Tiger paws. Tiger scoring began when fullback. Rich Johnson, ripped 12 yards through the Lion defense. The conversion kick failed. The Tigers scored again in the second quarter when quarter- back Wes Nott plunged 2 yards. On a fake conversion kick David Aguire passed to Lee Clements for 2 points and a 14 point lead. Early in the second half the Tigers scored again when Wes Nott again ran it in on a OB sneak. Later in the game, linebacker Paul Yeager intercepted a Lion pass and rumbled 33 yards for a score. A two point conversion attempt failed and the final score stood. Analy 26, El Molino 0.
