They are chosen on the basis of their successful leadership in academic and e x t r a-curricular activities during.their high school life. This is one of the few honors which the Senior class can bestow upon its leaders. Probably one game which will be remembered for many years to come is the Everett vs. Anacortes game on the Seagulls' home floor. Trailing throughout the game, sometimes by as much as 12 points, the Seahawks tied the game up 61-all with just 4 seconds left in regulation time. In overtime Anacortes ran away from the 'Gulls and emerged victors by the score of 69-63. A few of the records which were broken were: The 20 game team total broken by scoring 1285 points, this eclipsed the '56 record which was 1279. The team broke the record for consecutive games won in the district tournament. They won 12 which broke Everett's record of 11. Individual records broken were: Most points scored in one game Orv. Breckenridge with 34. That broke Jack Higgins' record of 32 set in '56. Most field goals scored i na game, broken by Jack Higgins with 14. Most rebounds made in a game, broken by Gary Keister with 28. This beat Jim Berentson's record of 22.
