Principal M, F. O'Leary A.H.S. principal, Mr. Michael F. O’Leary, has been the mainstay at Anaconda Senior High since 1951. Mr. O'Leary has played an active part in each of the school functions, and his patience and perserverance has guided many of the students. STUDENT GOVERNMENT Laurie Marchion, Student Body President; Brenda Richardson, Secretary; Dan McLean, Vice-President; Mr. Wolpert, Advisor. Selection of Council Members Revised Last spring marked a change in die selection of Student Council members. Those running for office participated in a vigorous week of campaigning which included speeches to the student body expressing their qualifications and reasons for seeking office. Another change in membership was the election of class and club representa- tives. This year’s activities included a revision of the council’s constitution and adoption of a school flag. The objectives of Student Council are to encourage school spirit and loyalty, strive for better conditions for students, and provide for better relations between students and faculty. Senior Reception, the annual dinner to honor the faculty, was put on in October. Their enthusiasm also carried over into many other activities. Sophomores were initiated into almost every club in the high school. They were well represented in all sports, and many spohomore boys won the honor of a letter. Besides being active in clubs and sports the sophomores also met many academic challenges. By ad- justing to the fast pace of high school like, the class of 72 proved their capability in meeting and conquering any emerging conflicts.
