The aim of this department is not only to prepare college-bound students, but to create a new awareness of the complex problems facing today's scientists. LIBRARY The focal point of daily school life should be the li- brary and indeed it is. At all hours of the school day one can find at least one person in the library either for reference work or just for enjoyment. We should feel lucky to have such an excellent library available to us.

The object of this department is to give stu- dents a working knowledge of the world and the functions of our government. PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT A glowing health certainly plays a vital part in happiness of spirit. This is achieved by the daily training that the students of AHS receive in their gym classes.
