Bill sometimes yelling in Latin to his classmates and thus getting their co-operation . . . this was the class that thought they belonged in the wits, scholars, and fools classification of the annual . . . 1940 Ianuary: again one of those very versatile girls -Mary lane Wichser . . . she was also the second gal to hold the vice presidency . . . dark days seemed to have come over the boy politicians . . . the Hi Y, however, was able to play the higher political game and put its president, Charles Schunk, also into the class presidency . . . Mr. Smythe appare ently taught them well how Mark Hanna played the role of king maker . . . Iune: can we ever forget laughing Nick Pasti as class president? . . . and how he brought his basketball team to the top? . . . well, he was a real sportsrnan and won't be forgotten for years . . . 1941 Icmuary: as a green eighth grader, Bill Thompson wore knickers to his graduation exer- cises . . . at his high school graduation he wore long pants and the crown ot class president . . . he wore both well . . . Iune: Harvey Deright did de right things as president of a very active class . . . and Wally Griffith was the embodiment of liberal doctrines . . . 1942 Ianuary: we come to our most active president- Pantelis Lambros . . . he was tops in everyf thing: president of the Student Council, Lieutenant Colonel of the H. O. T. C., vice president of the Greek Club, member of the National Honor Society, and member of the Hi Y . . . Iune: Bill Barber! what a real leader he proved to be! . . . he shot high . . . one of two to ever achieve a five-bar record as Viking representative . . . he also shot for the presidency and won . . . then he took the class with him to the heights . . . Now in clos- ing this brief sketch we say to all our leaders who have gone forth and have the heights of life in iront of them God speed you!
