The SENIOR BASKETBALL TEAM cruised through the season with seven Wins and three losses, losing to Lane 38-25, Steinrnetz, 29-24, and Senn, 42-35, to finish third in the North section. ln the play-offs, the Norse mosquito boat sank Austin, 51-31, but Was torpedoed by Crane, in the Quarter Finals, 28-24. Bob Blessing and Eugene Christie held the team on the course as co-captains. Coach Delaporte was again on deck to lend a hand in keeping the team from hitting hidden reefs. By tar the most entertaining game of the year was the one with the faculty, with Messrs. Anglemire, Bill, Ful- ler, I-luddy, lorndt, Slepicka, Small, and Weintraub, up- holding their honor. lt was a riot! Remember the six- man faculty sleeper? Bemember bullet-eye Fuller as high scorer? Although the crew out-hit Lane 6-3 in the second encounter, We lost l-O. An- other heart-breaker Was the second Taft battle, in which the enemy scored many unearned runs due to errors.
