The battle raged fiercely and evenly until Taft sailed over our shipmates. Norse middies unfurled their banners and overwhelmed Lane, 20-7. The tin cans in red and gray characterized the game with consistent playing, sending numerous fish to make shiverin' liz out of enemy linesmen. Pummeled to pieces by Schurz's heavy broadsides, the light Viking destroyer Went down with colors flying, 13-U. When the field of battle had been cleared, both teams hurried to misery hall. Lake View was the first school which attempted to sail away with our crown, but the galloping gobs set full steam ahead to Win the battle, 32-6. Heavy guns smashed holes in the enerny's line, and Captain Kenneth Vollrnar led the ship to base for the first victory. The tars shoved off on their second cruise and out-sailed Sullivan with a score of l3-lZ. After four quarters ot tricky maneuvering, the game ended with the Tigers one yard from another six points. Whew, that was close! Although playing Well, the Rough Riders were merely chow in the lunch hooks of our hungry and fast team, 20-U. Despite heavy and repeated thrusts upon their line, the Norsemen stowed Roosevelt in the hold With balanced and brilliant strategy. Viking gobs became human dynamos and mauled Waller with the score of 31-U. Tons of ammunition, in the form of energy, exploded on the field, and infected even the spectators with Wild enthusiasm. Mighty Senn battlewagons rode straight over our mosquito boat team, which crashed to the depths in their first defeat, 6-O. During the early part of the game our team played master strategists, but the Bulldogs overwhelmed them with sheer Weight and preponderance of numbers.

Weyrlch, Coach Delaporte. The SENIOR BASKETBALL TEAM cruised through the season with seven Wins and three losses, losing to Lane 38-25, Steinrnetz, 29-24, and Senn, 42-35, to finish third in the North section. ln the play-offs, the Norse mosquito boat sank Austin, 51-31, but Was torpedoed by Crane, in the Quarter Finals, 28-24. Bob Blessing and Eugene Christie held the team on the course as co-captains. Coach Delaporte was again on deck to lend a hand in keeping the team from hitting hidden reefs. By tar the most entertaining game of the year was the one with the faculty, with Messrs. Anglemire, Bill, Ful- ler, I-luddy, lorndt, Slepicka, Small, and Weintraub, up- holding their honor. lt was a riot! Remember the six- man faculty sleeper? Bemember bullet-eye Fuller as high scorer?
