A CLUB A-Club under the direction of Mrs. Helen Anderson, took a survey of Arizona high schools to find out their school colors and symbols as the foremost project of the year. Another im- portant project was decorating the goal posts for each home football game. Initiation was held at the end ofthe year and a skit was put on for an assembly. GIRL'S ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION Under the supervision of Mrs. Helen Anderson and Miss Lee Chilikas, Girls' Athletic Associ- ation has had a busy schedule for this year. Their activities included a dance symposium at Tempe, the State badminton tournament also at Tempe, a successful Halloween. Dance joint- ly sponsored by F. F. A. , a spring party, noon- time activities, and a talent show. Officers for the club include Lois Humphrey, president, Sue McCoy, vice-president, Mary Alice Gastleum, secretary-treasurer, and . In Front Of Table L. To Rg Dick Dlddams, Gideon Weisz, Bill Tllllngthast, Robert Riley, John Da vis, CHESS CLUB Tucson, Amphitheater, Safford and Morenci organized a state chess championship as the main project for the ye'ar. The first half of the State Tournament was held at Safford, in early December with the fol- lowing scores: Amphitheater 13, Tucson 10, Safford 9 1!2, Morenci 3 112. In March, the second half was played and the score determined the state champion. Tucson won 9 1X2 to 6 1X2 over Amphi in the first meet between the schools in February. Two other matches were played. The officers were Princess.
