f fl fi. HE -4 ll pl im' W.. IZ Although this was to be a rebuilding year, the Hockey Team surprisingly stepped forward as a leading contender for the Housy title. The Spartans started out fast, winning the first 8 games. Top offensive threats were Tim Doheny and Dave Kozak with I7 and 25 goals respectively. The defense was led by Howie Gartland, Lance Porto and Cap- tain Matt Luce. The team lost several close games in over- time and ended the regular season I3-6, qualifying for the CIAC Tournament. Led by captain and leading scorer, Frank Lewis, this year's Bowling Team swept into the ranks of Amityls champion- ship teams. Their oustanding ll-l record captured the Sub- urban League Title as they continued on to be ranked number tive at the State Tour- nament's finish. Congratula- tions to the team members and Coach Maloney. Golf Howie Gartland, Steve Gedansky, Bob Rosenthal, Mike Ryan, Hal Smullen fCoachJ. Amity's smallest but most suc- cessful team is the Golf Team. The owners of the Housy crown the past three years and the LL State Championship last year will be led by two returning starters. Coming back will be Captain Bob Rosenthal and Mike Ryan. The team has a tough act to follow.
