This year's BasketballTeam turned in a sparkling season under Head Coach Taylor. Disciplined coaching, balanced scoring and a strong bench were all essential in attaining the ll-9 record. The team qualified for the CIAC Tournament for the first time in four years under the leadership of senior Co- Captains Jeff Lassen and Roger Fishman. Senior Kirby Smith was outstanding as the team's center and leading rebounder. First year Coach Mengold also did a superb job with the Junior Varsity. This year's high point was the victory over Cheshire 74-72. The team expects another fine season behind juniors Mike Flaumenhaft and Andy Gam- bardella. Row I Tim Fusco. M-Ni. f ---......,,,,,,,, ,S at is The Amity Girls' Basketball Team, led by co-captains Karen Johnson and Sue Murphy, played excellent basketball and finished second in the Housatonic League this year, with a record of I6-6. Heather Conway was the high scorer and rebounder and was selected to the All-Housatonic League Team. The girls qualified for the CIAC tournament and were ranked twelfth.
