The girls went on to an impressive fifth place finish in the state tournament under the strong leadership of captain's Gilda DeNicola, Lynne Bazely and Sandy Hessler. The team qualified for the CIAC Tournament for the first time in three years with a record of 7-6-2. Center Don Rom- berg was the leading scorer on this vastly improved team, with fifteen goals and six assists. Romberg was also selected for the All-Housatonic League first team. Peter Simon was the team's second leading scorer with ten goals and six assists, and received All-Housatonic League Honorable Mention. Also receiving Honorable mention were Glenn Duhl, Ross Cotjanle, Ed Viani, Tim Boulanger and .lim Clements.
