Alba .dl Q., ' ' ' ' FOOTBALL l955, the first year of interscholastic football competition at Amity, will go down in history as the year in which the first touchdown was scored. Hampered by lack of experience, Amity was blanked 0-O in its first game against St. Mary's. However, in the second and final contest, against Cheshire, Robert Beardmore scored a touchdown, tying the score at 6-6. ln the fall of l956, with a short but commendable season behind them, all but three of Coaches John Halpin and Thomas Hughes' Varsity Football Team will return to play a longer season. 64
