DEDICATION NANCY MARKER! Efficient and dedicated to her job, she finds needed materials in seconds and works overtime to complete college applications. But most importantly, Guid- ance Secretary Nancy Markert truly cares about us. She understands the insecurity and anxiety of students about to leave high school. Her warm, friendly manner and sense of humor puts us at ease and assures us that planning for the future is not quite as frightening as it seems. She is patient, always listens intently and answers countless questions with a kind and cheerful smile. No matter what the problem is, she is ready with at least a good suggestion if not an instant solution. She is an essential part of the caring atmosphere of the school. With this in mind, we gratefully dedicate this yearbook to Nancy Markert in appreciation of all the help and understanding she has so generously given us. Saying goodbye is always difficult. Especially to someone as special as Mr. Rufus “Bud Kneeland. After twenty-three years of teaching, coaching and driver’s ed, he has decided to retire. While teaching physical education has been his primary task, he has also contributed to the school in other ways. He taught Driver’s Ed. and put many excellent “defensive drivers on the road. He has coached football and basketball as well as golf for 20 years. The Goldbug Business Staff appreciates the time and effort he has given to them. Retirement will not only mean leaving the High School, but it will mean moving on, spending more time with his family, and lots of time in his domain, the golf course. The class of ’88 thanks you. Bud Kneeland, for your influence and support. 2
